“Environmental accessibility adaptations”, sometimes referred to as Home Modifications, are physical adaptations made to the DD individual’s home which are necessary to ensure their health, welfare and safety, or which enable the individual to function with greater independence in the home. Home modifications can include, but are not limited to, such things as ramps, better accessibility in bathrooms and kitchens, grab bars, keyless entry door locks, security systems, and widening doorways.
