Vision Mentors provides Homemaker/Personal Care (HPC) so that individuals can live and participate in their community in a safe and healthy manner. HPC services include a variety of daily living tasks and social activities in the community and in the individual’s home.
Individuals can experience personal growth in various areas of independent living by learning, practicing (in simulated situations), and applying (during community outings).
Skills in the home can include cleaning, cooking, proper phone use, laundry, how to use a calendar, and time awareness. Independent skills can also be practiced in a natural community setting; for instance, communication and social skills, money and pedestrian skills are a few.
HPC can provide an opportunity for individuals to be active and involved in their community attending sporting events, going to movies or bowling, out to eat, the library or the park and can be done individually or can include a friend.
Vision Mentors offers a non-traditional approach to HPC services. Unlike other agencies, we hire providers as independent contractors which allows more flexibility, stability, and personalized services to the individual.
If you are interested in providing HPC services through Vision Mentors as an independent contractor, apply by clicking on the Employment Tab above.
